As a Licensed Psychologist, Psy. D., LP, Cheri focuses on helping individuals heal from a variety of life struggles from a holistic viewpoint that all parts of a person’s life is intertwined and affect each other. I believe that everyone has the chance to heal and live a life that is rewarding to them. A main point of interest is treating trauma, addiction, eating disorders and co-occurring disorders such as mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma-based symptoms. In addition, her practice includes psychological evaluations encompassing ADHD testing, learning disabilities, achievement testing and personality testing to aid in diagnosing and treatment planning.
Professional Experience & Affiliations Cheri is a Licensed Psychologist, Psy. D., LP, in Minnesota. She is a member of the American Psychological Association. She has previous experience working with individuals who experience addiction and mental health struggles, eating disorders, individuals in transition, grief and loss, divorce, domestic violence survivors and perpetrators. She has worked in integrated care with eating disorders and consulted with doctors, nurses, and dieticians. In addition, she has experience working with CPS, probation and the court system in helping individuals heal and meet expectations from these different agencies.
Cheri has spent time providing presentations and guest lectures on both eating disorders, addiction, and trauma, as well as, how these interact and overlap each other. She has done presentations with the Addiction division of the American Psychological Association and the Minnesota Psychological Association. She has guest lectured at the University of Minnesota’s program for integrated health for the past three years. Cheri also is an adjunct trainer with People’s Incorporated Institute providing training on various mental health topics. She is also a adjunct professor at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota’s doctoral program. Lastly, she has developed a 2 day training seminar on the treatment of eating disorders and presented this to a organization in the Sioux City, IA area.
Educational Background Cheri received a M.A. and Psy.D. from the University of St. Thomas.
